Welcome
The mission of the Office of Research Compliance (ORC) is to support and promote ethical research practices at The Ohio State University. ORC serves the OSU research community by coordinating institution-wide research compliance policy and procedure development, and by partnering with researchers, so that the University is compliant with federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as University policies.
How we accomplish our mission
- Identify compliance risks in our research practices
- Partner with University faculty and staff researchers to develop novel and effective ways to minimize and manage compliance risks, while also providing value to the institution and minimizing the administrative burden on researchers
- Serve as a University-wide resource for research compliance information, new requirements, and best practices - and effectively communicating these to the research community
- Monitor compliance in accordance with University and federal guidelines
